First Ever Warning Strobes Fitted as Standard on 2016 Ford F-150s

Ford has done it again! As committed as ever to their goal of remaining a taste-maker of the automotive industry, Ford has become the first company to start fitting Warning Strobe Lights on their vehicles. This safety feature upgrade proves that Ford is passionate about giving you -not just what you want- but also what you need.

These Warning Strobe Lights were already a fixture offered on Ford’s 2016 F-Series Super Duty and it will soon be an optional addition to the 2016 F-150 fleet. The Ford F-150 has been one of the most dependable and best-selling vehicles in the company’s long history; as well as automotive history over-all. These additional safety strobes push the F-150 right to the top spot for meeting your work vehicle needs.

The Addition of Warning Strobe Lights to the F-150 Series is a Big Deal

Ford has always been held in the highest regard where safety and dependability are concerned. “Built Ford Tough” is their timeless slogan for a reason. Adding these strobe lights to their trucks is just another drop in the massive ocean that is Ford’s promise to never stop working to bring you the best they have to offer. Ford recognizes that you have an important job to do, and they want to keep you safe and well-lit while you do it.

When mounted on the edge of the F-150’s cab, and near the brake light on the back window, these warning strobe lights provide 180 degrees of LED illumination output. LED’s -or Light Emitting Diodes-is a two lead semiconductor light source, which emits light when it’s activated. LED lights use less energy but give off more light than their predecessors- meaning you have to replace them less often. This technology allows the lights to be seen from up to 1000 feet! This means better visibility, no matter what time of day it might be. The circle of light produced by this warning strobe light set-up is incredibly wide, giving workers more room and visibility to do their job to the best of their ability.

Built Ford Tough with Warning Strobes

Never resting on their laurels, Ford has been working to improve the F-150 with every passing year and iteration. They already lowered the weight of the F-150 by 700lbs when they switched to  a military-grade aluminum alloy frame. This lightness of frame allows the F-150 to be one of the most agile light-duty pickup trucks on the market currently. This means not only better handling, but also improved gas mileage.

Light in weight, this vehicle still manages to pack quite the punch, seeing as it can haul and tow more than any other half-ton truck out there. Safety is of the utmost importance to the engineers over at Ford-and they are confident in the F-Series as a fleet vehicle. The F-150 was honored with several awards in 2016 including:

  1. 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick Award
  2. 5-Star Overall Crash Test Rating from the US Department of Transportation’s New Car Assessment Program
  3. 2016 Most Popular on Edmunds.com
  4. 2016 Best Buy of the Year from Kelley Blue Book
  5. Voted Best Truck Brand by US News and World Report

Worried that all this quality comes at a price? Fear not! According to industry information, the 2016 F-150 has the lowest cost-to-own in its class. That’s right; it beat out Dodge, Chevy, and Toyota. If you’re in the market for a light-duty pickup truck-even if you’re working with budgetary constraints- the Ford F-150 is -hands down- the best option for safety, durability, and affordability.

In fact, Ford out performed the Dodge Ram, the Chevy Silverado, and the Toyota Tundra in safety tests last year. The F-150 rarely dips below four stars on its safety ratings. Putting Ford that much more over-the-top are these new LED strobe light upgrades, which are soon sure to be mimicked by competitors just trying to keep up.

Ordinary Civilians can Order Warning Strobe Light Kits

Warning strobe lights are often used by municipality crews and utility road construction to warn motorists that a worker is present and that work is being done in the area. But, this safety feature can prove just as useful to average driving joes like you and me and, thanks to Ford, we now have the option of adding them to our automobiles.

These LED strobe lights are not an everyday driving condition type of tool, but they can prove life-saving if you have an emergency on the road, or if your vehicle should break down, especially at night. We’ve all been there. While warning strobe lights on the F-150 is a new addition to Ford’s repertoire, that does not mean that you need to purchase a new truck to experience this LED emergency lighting upgrade.
